Delicious Green Juice Ratio

I get lots of questions as to what is the best ratio of fruits and veggies when juicing.  The tendency is to use lots of fruit because of its sweet deliciousness, however, many of us need to watch our fructose intake.  Fruit sugars are certainly not as unhealthy as refined white cane sugar, however, it is still an important consideration to regulate healthy blood sugar levels throughout the day.

Base, or 70% of volume

Celery

Cucumber

 

Leafy Greens (single or combination), 20% of volume

 

Spinach

Kale (use raw kale sparingly if you have a sluggish thyroid)

Collards

Swiss chard

Watercress

Parsley

Beet greens

Cabbage

Dandelion greens

Wheatgrass

Any other leafy greens

 

Sweet and Spicy, 10%

Tomato                                                       Carrot

Bell pepper                                                Beet

Burdock                                                     Pears

Radish                                                        Lemon

Parsnip                                                       Cayenne

Apple                                                          Ginger

Sweet potato                                              Garlic
